Varsity Tournament

The 2023 MSHL State Playoffs will again consist of 16 teams. Each conference is allocated a set number of teams in the tournament as follows:

Montgomery Hockey Conference - 4 teams
Eastern Conference - 4 teams
Howard County Scholastic Hockey Association - 3 teams
Monocacy Valley Hockey League - 3 teams
Southern Conference - 2 teams

Each conference will determine which teams are their entrants and in what order they are seeded within the conference.  Teams are then placed in the four pods as follows:

Seeds within each Group are determined by record against MSHL teams thru the conference playoffs.  

Each Group will play down to a winner.  The semifinals will be reseeded based on each Pod champion's record against MSHL teams.

Dates for the 2023 State playoffs are as follows:
Round 1 - February 21 & 23, 2023 at Laurel
Quarterfinals - February 28 at Laurel
Semifinals - March 1 at Laurel
Final - March 3 at Laurel

Girl's Tournament

Four teams will be selected and seeded 1 - 4.  Seed 1 will play Seed 4 and Seed 2 will play Seed 3.  The semifinal winners will meet for the Girl's championship.  The dates are:

Semifinals:  February 13, 2023 at Skate Frederick

Final:  February 24, 2023 at Ice World in Abingdon, MD
